USDA Box program, fruitful or failure?

Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Birthday to my Son Harold. This day I want to take the time to thank all of those behind the scenes workers of fresh produce. All of the workers that work all night in Terminal markets and distribution centers or drive over the road so you can have an abundance of fresh produce every day. They are true heroes along with our farm workers and our farmers.

On another note we need to have a conversation about transparency of the USDA’s box program, and I hope you use this posting to facilitate a conversation. There seems to be many people, some whom I trust completely, that think this program was a farce. I have to admit I know little about the intricacies of how this program was managed, I am trying to get up to speed, but it seems like there are some very serious concerns. I am tagging Brent Erenwert, Shay Myers, Patrick Kelly and Maria Reyes whom know more about this program then I will ever know. I will also tag the USDA so they can defend themselves as well. My goal is to make this industry better for everyone so let’s be respectful but let’s also get to the truth. I am sorry but this looks like it’s who you know and not what you know.
